Description:In GDIT 715, I collaborated with classmate to design a unit that was based on PA Common Core Standards to teach story elements. The discussions with my group members revolved around effective planning to enhance the lesson to maximize student learning. Many collaborative discussions were had to be sure the unit was appropriate and included a consideration for learners with diverse needs.
Reflection: My proficient rating in this area reflects the ability to effectively work with other graduate level educators to create a unit that would effectively teach story elements in a first grade PA classroom. It is a vital skill to collaborate when you are in the field of education. This was a rewarding experience in which we learned from each other and created a great unit for future use.
