IV.B Curriculum and Instruction

Rating: Proficient

Description: This project was a collaborative creation of a first grade story elements unit in GDIT 715: Instructional Learning Theory, supervised by Dr. Joseph Kush. In this activity, we needed utilize instructional learning theory and instructional design to create a well planned unit utilizing backwards design.

Reflection: My proficient rating in this area reflects my collaboration on the group creation of a first grade story elements unit.This group project was completed to meet the Pennsylvania State Standards and was immediately usable as required the development of the lesson plans and all needed resource materials.

Rating:  Advanced

Description: In the course GILT 515: Instructional Technology Practicum, I performed the duties of an Instructional Technology Coach for a Pennsylvania school district. This handout was created prior to a session based on the instructional needs that the teacher expressed in the area of iPad implementation support.

Reflection: I rated myself as advanced on this standard after spending multiple hours supporting technology implementations in a school district. I had to display leadership qualities and support in the area of curriculum in order to help educators enhance instruction through technology use.


4. Articulates a vision for student success and a positive school climate that supports equal access to curricular and instructional excellence.

Artifact: Mission, Vision, and Goals Project

Rating: Advanced

Description: This project was completed by group 7 of GILT 514, in summer of 2015. We created a mission, vision, and goals statement based on a variety of ideas that were very valid to education and technology integration.

Reflection: In this project, I feel we gain an advanced rating through a vision, mission, and goals based on real student outcomes, needs, and pedagogical concerns.
